Hi everyone, I’m writing this blog because many people keep asking me about the Iranian visa, especially after the new rules. Since I travel between India and Iran and help people with visa applications, I want to explain everything clearly and honestly.

If you read this thoroughly, you’ll understand exactly what to do, which documents you need, and which mistakes to avoid.

Important Update for Indian Travelers

First, I want to clearly say this. Earlier, Indians could travel to Iran visa-free for 15 days. But that rule is stopped now. So if you are an Indian passport holder, you cannot travel to Iran without a visa anymore. This includes tourism, visiting friends, and even transit.

Please don’t listen to old YouTube videos or outdated posts. If you fly without a visa, airlines or immigration can stop you.

Happy Journey — safar be kheyr (سفر به خیر)!

Wishing you a smooth and enjoyable trip to Iran.

How the Iran Visa Process Works

An Iranian visa works in two main steps. First, you apply for something called a Visa Grant Notice (also called a visa approval or authorization code). This is issued by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After you receive this Grant Notice, you will get the actual visa either from:

  • An Iranian embassy, or

  • Tehran airport

So remember:👉 No Grant Notice = No visa

Application Fee & Grant Notice Fee

To start your application:(30 Euros )

This includes:

  • Visa application processing

  • Grant notice fee

  • Follow-up until approval

Once this is paid and the documents are correct, we will submit your application.

Documents Needed (Most Travelers)

For most nationalities, including Indians, the process is simple.

You only need:

  • Filled Iran Visa Form

  • Passport copy (minimum 6 months validity)

  • Passport-size photo (white background)

You just email all documents to:📧 indianpersiancouple@gmail.com

That’s it.

Special Rule for USA, UK & Canada Citizens

If you are from USA, UK, or Canada, the process is more detailed and strict.

You must also send a detailed resume (CV) with your visa application.

This resume must include:

  • Your personal information

  • Education background

  • Interests, skills, abilities

  • Your job history for the last 10 years

  • Your travel history

  • All your social media and online presence, including:

    • Instagram

    • Facebook

    • X (Twitter)

    • LinkedIn

    • YouTube

    • Personal website

    • Any other links

All this information is mandatory.I will share a CV form template; you just need to fill it out honestly and send it with your visa form.

What Happens After Approval (Grant Notice)

Once your visa is approved, you will receive the Visa Grant Notice by email.

After that, you have two options to collect your visa.

ree

Option 1: Get Visa from Iranian Embassy

This is the best and safest option, especially for Indian travelers.

What you do:

  • Visit the Iranian embassy or consulate near you

  • Submit:

    • Passport

    • Visa grant notice

    • Required photos

  • Embassy takes a few working days

They will inform you when your visa is ready. Then you go again, pay the visa fee, and collect your visa.

👉 Visa fee is usually around ₹7,000 to ₹10,000, depending on nationality and embassy.

I personally recommend this option if it’s your first time traveling to Iran.

Option 2: Collect Visa in Iran (Tehran Airport)

The second option is collecting your visa at Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport.

Important point:You can do this only if you already have the Visa Grant Notice.

At the airport:

  • Show your grant notice

  • Pay visa fee (around 90 Euros)

  • They will issue a paper visa

Iran no longer stamps passports, so don’t worry about stamps.

This option works, but for Indian travelers, rules can change suddenly, so embassy pickup is usually safer.

Travel Insurance Is Mandatory

This is very important.

You must have travel insurance that clearly mentions Iran.

If you don’t have insurance, they may:

  • Stop you

  • Or force you to buy insurance at airport for around 25 Euros

So I always suggest:✅ Buy travel insurance in your own country✅ Make sure “Iran” is written on it

Very Important: Return Ticket Rule

Please remember this carefully.

When you travel to Iran, you must carry a return ticket.

Especially for Indians traveling from India to Iran, immigration officers often ask for return ticket.

If you don’t have return ticket:

  • Airlines may refuse boarding

  • Immigration may create issues

So always:✅ Book return flight✅ Keep e-ticket on your phone or print

Payment Methods

For our visa service:

  • Indian travelers can pay via UPI (indianpersiancouple@ybl)

  • Non-Indian travelers can pay via PayPal (@indianpersiancouple), 30 Euros + Transaction fee

If you need another payment method, you can contact Us and we’ll discuss.
